Regular Commission Schedule Terms and Conditions

  • The regular commission schedule refers to trades placed with a BMO InvestorLine Representative.
  • All transactions for one account in one security on one side of the market during one trading session are included in determining the principal value of the trade ("daily bundling process"). Full commission charges apply for each partial fill except when transacted on the same business day. Prices on multiple fills transacted on the same business day are averaged for commission purposes.
  • Commissions on U.S. trades are charged in U.S. dollars.
  • Electronic trades are placed through the BMO InvestorLine web site or any other electronic channel. Commission calculation is based on the original format of the order. If you change an order through a BMO InvestorLine representative, the regular commission schedule applies to the original order and any subsequent changes to that order.
  • All rates apply as of September 6, 2011 and are subject to change without notice.

*Flat Fee Pricing $9.95 Terms and Conditions

  • Electronic option trades are charged at $9.95, plus $1.25 per contract.
  • Flat Fee Pricing is applied to electronic trades executed on our website or through Automated Telephone Trading. Trades executed by a BMO InvestorLine Representative are excluded from Flat Fee Pricing.
  • Commissions on U.S. trades are charged in U.S. dollars.
  • A trade is defined as a filled commissionable equity or option order.
  • Your assets will automatically be evaluated each month and qualifying accounts will begin receiving Flat Fee Pricing beginning the first day of each month. Flat Fee Pricing takes effect after qualification, and commission adjustments will not be made for prior trades.
  • Trades under Flat Fee Pricing are charged on a per order basis and are not bundled for discounts. For example, where multiple trades are made on the same account for the same security – on the same exchange, the same side of the market and the same day – each trade is charged the applicable commission rate.
  • For option assignment and exercises and CNSX market trades, the Agent Telephone Trading Rate applies. This rate is subject to a minimum commission rate of $43 CDN and $43 USD.
  • This program is not open to Investment Club and Partnership accounts. BMO InvestorLine reserves the right to exclude accounts at any time.
